Swollen feet (Vilankulos)

Ok, early start again. Wasn't hard to wake up because New Year's Music Festival in Matilda's was rocking my bed. 5.30 sharp Griffin, Carmen & I started walking up the road to get a chapa going to Inhambane.
Thankfully, it got packed quite quickly and it left almost immediately. (In Mozambique the only thing you can hope for is that your chapa gets a loaded with people and massive packages quickly, you don't want to spend many hours waiting in the middle of nowhere.)
We got to Inhambane, took a ferry to Maxixe (it perfectly played the part of suggesting that passengers were being smuggled out of town). Amidst the leaky gasoline engine roars, Griffin got offered a shoe exchange -he clearly was not going to get a benefit after it.
We tried (but failed big time) to hitchhike the passing transport trucks and resigned to take a chapa to Vilankulos.
Griffin sent a little boy to fetch us a coconut while we ate some Bon-o-Bons.
Meanwhile, kids where running and waving at us, it's a shame we didn't take any pictures. Those moments happen so quickly and hold (grip on? grip?) you so tight that there's no other thought in your mind rather than wanting to be part of that moment.
Roadtrip reloaded had been so long (between other things) that at the end of the day my legs were so swollen they seemed to be elephant one's. In a chapa that usually carries 15 people, we were 24 (with at least 7 babies/ small children).
Got to Zombie Cucumber (parted ways with Griffin and Carmen) and met some nice Spanish and UN guys: Miguel, Mark and Daniel. There were also some nice couples around.
I wrote on my blog for a while chatted with the guys, listened to a rather interesting jam session and headed off to bed.
My swollen feet needed a rest.
